# 💾 Local Backup

To make a local backup, go to your Profile then click on Export a local backup . You will be asked to create a password for your local save. This password will be asked when you will try to restore using the Local file option.

Restore a DID

By clicking on Validate , a local save will be automatically create on your smartphone device storage.

By default, the local save will be stored in your Download or Documents folder of your device.

Warning

The backup is not automatically updated by myDid! In case of restoration, you will be responsible for the loss of your data if your backup is not up to date. Consider using a cloud backup to automate updating your backups.
