⚙️ Initial Setup of the myDid App
Upon first launching the myDid app, you'll be prompted to either Create or Restore a Digital Identity (DID). Select the Restore a DID option if applicable.
Important Note on Restoration
Please note, the DID Restoration option is ONLY available during the initial startup of the app.

➡️ Restoring a DID After Initial Setup
If you need to Restore a DID
after you've already completed the DID creation process, please ensure that you have already backed up your current 12 word recovery phrase
then follow these steps:
▶️ Clear the myDid app data from your device, or uninstall and then reinstall the myDid app.
▶️ Open the app and tap on the Restore a DID button.
Risk of Data Loss
Be aware that uninstalling the app or deleting its data will permanently erase ALL your stored data on the device. Ensure you have a local backup of your data to avoid any loss.

📂 Restore your DID
myDid offers you 3 different ways to restore your DID. You can use a cloud backup , use a Local file or directly with your security phrase with No file . Select the restoration method that suits you and then follow the on-screen procedure.
Backup cloud
Connect to the cloud (Google or Apple) with your email address and password. All your information will be automatically restored.
Local file
A prompt will ask you to select the file on your phone.
No File
Manually enter your twelve security words to restore your DID.

☁️ Backup cloud
If you opt for the Backup cloud option, based on your phone's operating system (Android or Apple), you will be seamlessly redirected to the associated service, such as Google Cloud or iCloud where you'll need to input your email address and Cloud password.
To wrap up the restoration process and ensure the security of your information, we'll request you to enter your myDid password. Click the Validate button to finalize the restoration.

💾 Local file
When you select
Local file
, the application will ask your permission to access media content on your device, enabling file search. Simply click
Allow
, and then proceed to choose the backup file stored on your phone. Usually, the local file will be in Documents
or Download
folders.
Security
Once you've made your selection, you'll be prompted to enter the password associated with your backup file for verification. We will ask you to secure your account with a 6-digit PIN code
.

📝 No file
Opting for No file signifies your agreement to manually input the twelve security words associated with your myDid wallet. Simply click on each of the designated boxes and carefully enter your recovery passphrase in the exact order.
Click the
Next
button to continue the restoration. We will ask you to enter your Nickname
and your Email address
. Don't forget to accept the terms of service
before clicking
Restore my DID
.
To secure your account, you will have to confirm a new 6-digit PIN Code
. Once this operation is validated, your account will be restored.
Password and passphrase
Never share your mydid password or recovery passphrase. myDid will NEVER ask you for these information.
