Manage advanced settings

The Advanced page brings together your community's technical settings, including enabling and disabling chat between members via the mobile app.

Why it matters

• Control whether your members can chat with each other via the mobile app
• Anticipate the consequences before disabling a community feature
• Check the current status of your advanced settings at any time

Access advanced settings

From the Settings menu, click "Advanced".

Understand member chat control

The "Community member chat control" section lets you enable or disable chat between members in the mobile app.

By disabling this feature, members will no longer be able to:

• Send or receive new messages between members via the mobile app
• Access conversation history in the mobile app
• Receive chat notifications in the mobile app

Disable or re-enable chat

Depending on the current status, click "Disable" to turn off chat between members, or "Enable" to restore it.

Check the current status

The "Current member chat status" section at the bottom of the page shows in real time whether chat is Enabled or Disabled.

Good to know

Depending on your account's retention settings, chat data already exchanged may be permanently deleted when the feature is disabled. Think carefully before confirming this action.
